DC 37 members all across New York City will be wearing buttons to “Say It Loud: We’re Union and Proud” on Monday, Jan. 11.

This show of solidarity takes place on the day that billionaire CEOs and their lawyers go before the U.S. Supreme Court to try to undermine public service workers in the case Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association.

The super-rich, who make huge profits keeping the economy out of balance, want to use the Friedrichs case to stifle workers’ voices and turn the clock back to the sweatshop era. DC 37, 20 state attorneys generals and others have filed legal briefs in the case, and member solidarity is essential to help push back against these huge corporations and CEOs.

The on-the-job expertise of DC 37’s members maintains New York City as a world-class destination and home to millions. Members are justifiably proud of their daily public service work as well as heroic efforts that helped bring the city back after the 9/11 World Trade Center attack and Hurricanes Irene and Sandy.

Get Involved on Button Day on Jan. 11: Share this info with co-workers; Wear a “Union and Proud” button (you can cut out the one above); wear green (a DC 37 T-shirt or other green clothing); and share a photo of you & your co-workers wearing the button on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #worktogether.
