Mandela Returns

“Mandela” the play is back by popular demand – and DC 37 members can purchase tickets at a discount.

“Mandela,” which recounts Nelson Mandela’s lifetime struggle against apartheid in South Africa, was co-written and produced by Yolanda Brooks, a Local 768 Public Health Sanitarian, and retired New York City Firefighter John Ruiz.

The cast includes James Garrett, an SSEU Local 371 member, as South African freedom fighter Joseph Kwezi.

Both local unions are part of DC 37.

“This is a chance to see an incredible, inspiring off-Broadway production by one of our own,” said Fitz Reid, president of Local 768.
