Can You Help Improve Our Census Response for Future Jobs and Services?
Sisters and Brothers,
DC 37 needs your help in fighting for our city’s future.
Census 2020 just released the latest response rate data and it is very concerning. New York City’s 53.2 percent self-response rate is significantly lower than the national average of 62 percent.
That means if reporting concluded today, New York City would lose billions in federal dollars, resulting in severe cuts to vital city services, important community programs and even massive layoffs of public workers.
The COVID-19 pandemic has already devastated New York’s economy, leading to harmful cuts to programs and services many families rely on.
We risk far more if New York City’s response rate to Census 2020 does not improve.
Beginning next week, the Political Action Department will be running phone banks, engaging and answering questions members may have about the Census.
We have until October 15, just 45 days to change the course of our city’s future. Join our phonebank team at https://bit.ly/3fM6A97 and sign up for a shift today! Do your part to protect our city’s future!
