Union, City Launch Pilot Program for Hybrid Work
As an integral part of the newly ratified 2021-2026 Citywide Economic Agreement, the Flexible Work Committee issued its first recommendations for a hybrid pilot program on June 1.
Key points of the Remote Work Pilot Program include:
- Participation for workers is voluntary.
- Eligible workers may work remotely up to two days per week.
- The City agency will issue an acknowledgment form for those workers eligible to participate.
- Each respective City agency shall inform workers of their eligibility and operating procedures.
The committee will continue to review City agencies’ plans for implementing hybrid work along with compressed tours, flex time, and other alternative schedules for those members whose job functions are not conducive to remote work.
The program continues through May 31, 2025, with an option to renew for an additional year.
